Mission & Mandate
The Sydney Business & Marketing Association (SYDBMA) is an independent, non-profit research institution dedicated to advancing the understanding of strategic management, marketing innovation, and organizational adaptation in times of disruption. Our mandate is to produce actionable, evidence-based research that bridges academic rigor and practical executive application.
SYDBMA's research directorate comprises leading academics from University of Sydney, UNSW Business School, and international partners, alongside C-suite practitioners from Fortune 500 and ASX-listed companies. This unique composition ensures our outputs remain both theoretically grounded and operationally relevant.
Research Methodology
All SYDBMA publications undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process by the Editorial Board. Our empirical work draws on:
- Longitudinal surveys with minimum 1,000 respondents per wave
- In-depth case studies with direct company access
- Policy analysis and regulatory impact assessments
- Meta-analyses of existing academic and industry literature
We maintain full methodological transparency, publishing our data collection instruments and analytical code where applicable.
Careers & Fellowship
SYDBMA offers research fellowships for doctoral candidates and early-career researchers in strategic management, marketing science, and organizational behavior. We also welcome expressions of interest from industry practitioners seeking sabbatical research positions.
