Finally, it’s time … for the THIRTEENTH annual European Cycle Messenger Championships!
The event will be held from Friday to Monday, July 25 to 28, 2008 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
The motto: No bullshittin’.

About the ECMC
The European Cycle Messenger Championship (ECMC) is the ultimate urban cycling competition. The strongest, smartest and fastest bike messengers from across Europe converge once a year to determine who is the best in a variety of events that test riders’ physical and mental limits. The mainrace is a fully insured competition on a closed course that imitates daily work in the city. While most competitors are bike messengers, events are open to everyone.

ECMC2008 is a European championship sporting event, but it is also a festival celebrating messenger culture and its broad influence on modern urban culture.

Eindhoven: The largest city in the South of the Netherlands. Not particularly known for its splendour or historical appeal – because there just ain’t any. A stretched L.A. quality... this industrial and High Tech booming town is where lightbulbs evolved, where farmers run the shit, design rules and inhabitants Rock the place and travel regularly into space by UFO...

The event has exclusive use of the University Campus for the entire weekend, including use of indoor facilities and campground. This means the racecourse & camp are actually right in the centre of town!!

It’s been now more than 10 years that Paris has been trying to catch up with other European, American and Asian countries concerning bicycle messengers. The new millennium seems to be the right one for all of us. Indeed after a few unsuccessful experiences between 1990 and 2000, Paris finally manages in, January 2001, to establish a real messenger company: Urban Cycle. Since, it seems the vibe is taking as there are now no less than 3 companies (Urban cycle, Vélocité Paris and Cycl’air) who are actually trying to impose themselves in this difficult labour market mainly dominated by motorbike messengers.

Establishing bicycle messengers in our beautiful capital isn’ t our only goal. There is another one dear to us and that is to create a messenger spirit in Paris and organise the events that go with it.

This goal also seems to be helped by the arrival of highly motivated messengers. Alleycats, hordes, rides, parties, fix’spirit, participation to many championships (CMWC – ECMC – suiCMC…), it seems that things are starting to take shape even though we’re not enough yet. Of course we dream of being able to offer you one day a CMWC or ECMC and even to start with, a FBMC (French Bicycle Messenger Championships) worthy of this name, but we’d rather wait until there’s more of us, than taking the risk of disappointing you. Whiles waiting for better days, we’ve worked hard to offer you a pre-event like you’ ve never seen or experienced before:
